Match Action:

Tufnell Park under 10’s enjoyed a confident win on Saturday morning over local rivals Fusion.

Tufnell Park started strong right from the kick off with good confident passing and running off the ball to stretch the opposition.

This playing style started to pay dividends with some strong shots on the opposition’s goal with one shot managing to hit the post and crossbar but unfortunately failing to land on the right side of the goal line.

During the first half the Tufnell Park players showed lots of energy and the desire to track back along with lots of good tackling to break up the oppositions play. One of these great tackles, enabled an excellent through ball to be played to Matthew who ran from almost the half way line towards the goal where he calmly slotted the ball past the keeper in to the bottom corner of the goal.

Shortly after more pressure from Tufnell enabled another break down the right, and with the confidence oozing through the team Joel stuck a wonderful effect from distance which flew through the air into the top corner of the goal. Defiantly a contender for goal of the season so far!

The second half started with Tufnell two up, and if the first half was attack focused the second half was as good demonstration of their defensive improvement from the last game. Fusion started brightly and for long periods Tufnell had to focus on their positioning and defending as shots started coming in to the Tufnell park area from Fusion, for which the Tufnell Park goalkeeper had to make some great saves to protect their clean sheet.

The game ended 2-0 to Tufnell Park and the win was backed up with a well-deserved clean sheet and something to try and repeat going into the next game.
