The hard-work that the boys have been doing at training over the past few weeks was clearly on show today, The first half was a very tight affair, with some competitive tackles, opportunities for both sides, with both goal keepers pulling off some fine saves. Tufnell Park were clearly trying to put their training in to action for which it paid off late in the first half, with a break down the left, causing a slight scramble in the penalty area with Matthew getting the all important touch to make Tufnell Park one up going into the break. Chris the team coach clearly got his team talk spot on at half time as Tufnell Park scored a great goal early in the second half, a wonderful bit of skill and through ball from Liam sending Oliver down the touch line for him to cross to the unmarked Matthew who calmly side footed it in for his second goal of the day. Shortly after, more good pressure form Tufnell Park resulted in a free kick, Oliver stepped up and calmly struck the ball into back of the net sending Tufnell 3-0 up. Credit to the opposition however they did not drop their heads and within five mins they had scored two quick fire goals leaving the game on a knife edge going into the final few minutes of the game. Ultimately Tufnell proved to strong as they pushed forward to finish off the game with with some good team build up play, a great turn from Oliver who slotted the ball between the keeper legs into the back of the net, and finally Louis getting his 2nd of the day with a fine run and strike into the top left hand corner of the net, with the game finishing 5-2 to Tufnell Park Football School.
Very much a team effort on display today, The boys played well and clearly enjoyed it which is the most important part and credit to Chris and his team for their hard work as I can honestly say I think all the parents could see the hours of fun and enjoyable training being applied on the pitch which was great to see.
